A vacancy has arisen for a Sgt (People Ops – People Specialist) to serve as Chief Clerk on 505 (Wessex) Squadron RAuxAF at RAF St Mawgan on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 04 May 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). This is an office-based appointment and responsible for: Managing the day-to-day operations of the People Ops department. Line Management of JNCO People Ops. Responsible for oversight of their work, career management/delivery, coordination of working schedules and all other LM duties. Providing specialist knowledge, support, and advice to relevant stakeholders on all matters relating to Sqn admin. Supervising the Sqn's Part Time Volunteer Reserve (PTVR) People Ops personnel with completion of PWAs and daily working routine, as well as act as the Flt Cdr for People Ops, PTVRs. Ensuring that personal records are accurately maintained in accordance with current policies. Managing the maintenance of JPA input and Sqn databases. Carrying out monthly management checks on Sqn registers. Compiling periodic statistical reports and returns as required. Managing the creation, management and disposal of all attestations, discharges, extensions of service, identity cards, and promotions. Ensuring the custody and issue of service identity documents and railcards. Ensuring that all JPA inputs, which affect pay and allowances, are processed in line with pay cut off dates. Adhering to both joint and Ss policies detailing an individual’s responsibilities regarding pay, allowances and JPA Actors. Checking and authorising PTVR expense claims on JPA. Managing the coordination of all aspects of the mobilisation/de-mobilisation process. Assisting in formulating and delivering the Sqn’s Employer Engagement strategy. Administering SJARs, OJARs and Insert Slips including initiation, hastening, finalising and the management/maintenance of the appraisal register. Liaising with HRC1 permanent staff for the administration of Additional Duties Commitments, VeRR and Full Time Reserve Service. Liaising with RPMC for PTVR contracts including extension or termination of service. As Reservists in general work at weekends the successful applicant will be expected to work a minimum of 1 weekend per month at RAF St Mawgan or other working locations as required, with time off in lieu during the week.
