Technical Designer - Workplace Design & Build
A leading workplace design & build specialist is expanding its Technical Design team in Surrey and is looking for a talented Technical Designer to join their growing regional studio. This is an opportunity to work on high‑quality commercial interiors, supporting the delivery of innovative, buildable, and beautifully resolved workplace environments.

The Role
You'll play a key role in producing coordinated, accurate, and buildable technical drawing packages for CAT A and CAT B workplace projects. Working closely with concept designers, project managers, and site teams, you'll help translate creative ideas into fully resolved technical solutions that stand up on site.
This role is ideal for a technically strong designer who thrives in a fast‑paced D&B environment and wants to grow within a respected, design‑driven business.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Drawing & Documentation
Produce detailed drawing packages including GAs, RCPs, partitions, joinery details, elevations, and bespoke elements.
Ensure all drawings are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with building regulations.
Support the development of technical information from concept through to construction issue.
Coordination & Collaboration
Work closely with concept designers to maintain design intent while ensuring buildability.
Liaise with PMs, QS teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical queries.
Attend site visits to review progress and ensure technical accuracy.
Quality & Compliance
Maintain high standards of technical documentation and drawing quality.
Ensure all information aligns with H&S requirements, CDM, and statutory compliance.
Support the continuous improvement of technical processes and standards.
What You Bring
Experience in workplace design & build or commercial interiors.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience isessential
Solid understanding of construction detailing, building regulations, and technical coordination.
Ability to produce accurate, detailed drawings under pressure.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
A passion for delivering high‑quality workplace environments.
