St. Mary's Calne Sports Club has an indoor swimming pool (25m x 13m), a good-sized fitness suite, an indoor sports hall (34m x 20m) and a dance studio. This development represents a massive investment by the School in its facilities, for use by the pupils of St Mary's and St Margaret's Schools and the wider community on a membership basis.

Job Description:
Position: Swimming Teacher Level 2
Salary: £18.50 per hour
Scale: N/A
Pension: Pension scheme available
Hours: Zero-hours contract - Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:30pm, Thursdays 4 - 7pm, Saturdays 8:30am - 12pm (term-time only).
Holidays: 28 days pro-rata holiday per year including bank holidays (holiday is accrued at a rate of 12.07% per hour worked)

Purpose of Post:
To be responsible for the development and organisation of classes and to assist in the supervision, operation and control of customers within your designated area, under the direction of the management team. To take responsibility for the smooth daily operations of the class to maximise usage and income and to achieve customer service delivery objectives, in accordance with the centre's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. To ensure the efficient and effective operation of your sessions and to be responsible for equipment set-up and take down in accordance with Health and Safety and the centre's operational procedures.
2. To undertake your sessions according to the Swim School timetable, being responsible for ensuring classes commence and finish at the designated times.
3. To be responsible for undertaking all administrative tasks associated with the position.
4. To carry out continual assessments of students and maintain records of individual progress via On Course (our course management system).
5. To assist in the development of programming through innovative ideas, initiating actions to meet the demands of customers.
6. To assist in the communication and promotion of the centre's services.
7. To ensure the safety and welfare of staff and users of the club through the operation of all
Health and Safety procedures and standards.
8. To establish and maintain good relationships with the general public, ensuring that an appropriate ambience is maintained in the facility, making customers feel welcomed and valued.
9. These responsibilities are not exhaustive and may include any other reasonable duties as required by the Sports Centre Manager, Bursar, Headmistress of St Mary's Calne or
Headmaster of St Margaret's Preparatory School.
Person Specification:
Essential Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification
Desirable At least one year's experience teaching swimming
Personality & Attitude:
* Approachable, friendly and reliable and able to adapt to a range of user groups.
* Adaptable to various situations and be able to make effective decisions under pressure.
* Excellent time management
