Purpose: The Finance and Accounting Associate role will be a key member of the Elanco UK finance team.
This is an entry level role and will offer the candidate an opportunity to join a high performing, globally recognized finance organization, supporting the highest standards of internal and external financial reporting, controls and compliance for both our UK and Irish legal entities. This is being posted as a fixed duration contract with an initial contract period of 12 months.
The Company recently acquired a manufacturing site which has approximately doubled the size of the UK headcount and increased the scope and complexity of internal and external reporting obligations.
We are also in a period of stabilization and integration of systems, processes and controls. Elanco UK is a material component of the Elanco US Listed Group with multiple reporting streams including Manufacturing, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Regional commercial functions and our Commercial sales and marketing division.
Our Irish legal entity holds a unique status as a largely intercompany operation holding inventory in many European countries.
Location: Hook, Hampshire, UK.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
1. US GAAP accounting: support for many aspects of the month-end close process for UK and Ireland legal entities, including ownership of general ledger accounts, journal postings, and account reconciliations. This includes preparing the functional income statement report for monthly finance review.
2. Supporting the monthly accounting for payroll, revenue, gross to net, leases.
3. External financial reporting: assisting in financial statement preparations, GAAP to Stat conversions, and annual audits.
4. Other external reporting: ensuring compliance with all financial reporting obligations such as Payments Reporting, ONS returns, Environmental reporting.
5. Purchase to Pay: assisting with manual and urgent payments, purchase order requests, and liaising with the shared service centre.
6. Supporting UK&I financial planning processes during key cycles and providing ad hoc support to evaluate investment decisions.
7. Analyzing customer price incentives, discounts, and rebates to assess the commercial impact.
8. Collaborating with Elanco’s internal AI tools to enhance reporting efficiency and business partnering.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree (or similar) in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience (applications from final-year students are welcome).
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work in local, regional, and global teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Fluency in English.
Additional Skills / Preferences:
* Experience with SAP/Power BI is preferred.
