Financial Analyst
A quick look at the role
We’re looking for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join our team in High Wycombe, supporting a fast-paced operational business with high visibility across the division. This is a varied and hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of management accounts, financial reporting, forecasting and analysis for multiple business units, while partnering closely with operational and commercial teams to drive performance and maintain strong financial controls. Your core responsibilities
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analyses and bridges, for each of the selected business units, to meet reporting deadlines and provide useful feedback/explanations of financial performance to finance and non-finance-personnel.
2. Participate in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packs to assist the SFA in meeting the deadlines for submission with clear and accurate data.
3. 3 Monthly CAPEX reporting and forecast updates to support analysis against budget and decision making.
4. Assist FBPs and operations in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and five year plans for the business units of responsibility so that accurate and up-to-date financial information is used.
5. Consolidate budgets, forecasts and five year plans for the division to ensure timely and accurate submission to Central Finance.
6. Review (or compile) balance sheet reconciliations to ensure adherence to Group policy.
7. Provide end of year audit support giving full and adequate explanations to auditors where requested so that testing can be completed on a timely basis.
8. Support FBPs and non-finance personnel, providing financial data to assist in commercial decision making.
9. Provide cover for the Divisional Finance Team as required so that processes can continue uninterrupted during holidays/absence.
10. Other ad-hoc requirements as requested by the Senior Financial Analyst or other senior finance members.
Our essential requirements
11. Graduate or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
12. Previous experience in management accounting, including period-end processes, purchase orders and sales invoicing
13. Advanced Excel skills with strong overall IT literacy
14. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
15. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across finance, operational and commercial teams
16. Proactive, adaptable and willing to learn new skills
17. Able to work independently, problem solve effectively and remain calm under pressure
18. Experience within service, logistics or waste industries would be advantageous
