An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Speech and Language Therapy service based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn.
The position will develop skills in the assessment and management of acquired communication difficulties and acute dysphagia across a range of conditions within supportive and friendly teams. The role will be split between the stroke and non‑stroke acute services.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment for patients with acquired communication disorders in acute wards and stroke services.
* Deliver dysphagia therapy to patients across acute wards and stroke services under the supervision of specialist speech and language therapists.
* Work as part of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) within the hospital and maintain links with local community teams.
* Ensure a multi‑professional approach is carried out in the implementation of patient care across acute wards and all stroke services.
Qualifications
* Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) – newly qualified applicants are welcome.
* Support will be provided to develop both NQP and dysphagia competencies.
