Overview
We are currently seeking to recruit a friendly and trustworthy support worker to work alongside a family, therapy team, and case manager to support a delightful 10-year-old boy with complex care needs. The support will be based within the client’s home within the Cwmbran area and the wider community.
Responsibilities
* Support the client to access a range of community activities, including sports.
* Work with moving and handling equipment for transfers as needed, ensuring safety and comfort.
* Provide care and assistance within the home environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Offer additional support during school holiday periods for ad hoc overtime and some weekend hours may be available.
Qualifications
* Experience of working with children, preferably within the community and with physical needs, with a minimum of 3 years overall experience in the care sector as a carer/support worker.
* Full training on the child’s specific needs will be provided.
* Full, clean driving license and the right to work within the UK.
* The client is unable to offer sponsorship.
Shift & Salary
* Shift patterns include 3pm-8pm on Thursdays, with scope to increase to Monday evenings at a later time.
* Competitive weekday salary of £14.00 per hour, with ad hoc weekend work paid at a slightly elevated rate.
