Role summary and context: The Maths Learning Centre is situated within Learning Services in the Directorate of Library and Student Services. This team has an established national reputation for the quality and range of their work with learners and is expanding to meet ongoing demand.
Responsibilities
* Supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and research students through drop-ins, individual or small group tutorials, and workshops
* Delivering, reviewing and improving the provision of Maths support within the Maths Learning Centre
* Developing high quality online and face-to-face learning resources
* Working with colleagues across the University to promote and develop maths support
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
We are seeking someone who; is an outstanding Maths teacher, with experience of post-16 teaching and a passion for engaging students in Maths; has a first degree in a subject with significant mathematical content and has the ability and knowledge to support Maths teaching across a broad range of DMU programmes; and is a confident and proactive individual who is committed to and effective in working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues as well as part of a team.
Additional details:
* We teach in a hybrid format (face to face and online), therefore there will be a requirement to work on campus in Leicester.
* The “face to face” availability of the service may extend to early evening and occasional weekend provision.
* Full-time is preferred, but part-time applications will be considered. Please clearly state the fraction of the post you are applying for in your application.
