About this opportunity
Exciting opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Commercial Lending Platform. You’ll hold accountability for design, implementation, maintenance and support of DevOps pipelines, tooling/automation at a Feature/Lab team level. This will include recommending the right pipeline and tooling choices appropriate for their Feature/Lab accountabilities, in line with Group Strategy.

What you’ll do
* Accountable for DevOps implementations at a Feature team/Lab level, ensuring all services/implementations are stable, scalable and performant.
* Collaborate closely with other DevOps specialists and engineers from LBG, suppliers and partner resources.
* Learn new techniques and programming languages; be a keen problem solver and willing to leave your comfort zone.
* Own problems and drive improvements with an engineering mindset.
* Work alongside feature teams that develop Java microservice code, helping them continuously improve.
* Support the transition to containerisation and cloud technologies.
* Identify opportunities to automate and simplify to deliver higher quality products for customers.
* Mentor early career engineers and participate in technical interviews to help hire new engineers.
* Utilise endorsed technologies and apply common build patterns to minimise technical debt.
* Ensure service levels are appropriate for all DevOps services consumed by the Feature/Lab team.
What you’ll need
* Azure DevOps experience and the ability to contribute to our Azure DevOps journey.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Nexus, Maven, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Harness.
* Experience of continuous monitoring using Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Kibana.
* Solid coaching experience, guiding feature teams to adopt a DevOps approach.
* Experience with common programming and scripting languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js & React).
* Technical architecture and microservice design principles.
It would be great if you had…
* Experience with Kafka ecosystem and event-driven architectures (Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, Schema Registry).
* Advanced Kubernetes skills, including ingress controllers, service mesh (Istio or Linkerd), and stateful applications.
* Experience implementing observability across distributed systems (Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing).
* Hands-on infrastructure automation with Terraform for Azure resources.
* Ability to drive architectural decisions related to CI/CD and infrastructure.
* Knowledge of security practices in cloud environments (DevSecOps).
