About the Role
#teamED is looking for a dedicated Children’s Nurse for emergency and trauma care in our 24‑hour A&E. This role offers the chance to advance your skills as an Emergency Children’s Nurse across our Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Triage children and provide initial assessment
* Plan, deliver and evaluate personalised health and wellbeing care for children and families
* Monitor vital signs, use PEWS and assess early recognition of acutely ill children
* Ensure safe transport, fluid intake monitoring, ECGs, wound dressings, plaster casts, catheterisation, venepuncture, cannulation, blood transfusion, palliative and terminal care, care of central lines
* Manage admissions and discharges in line with Trust values
Team
Work alongside 19 Consultants, 5 Advanced Nurse Clinicians, Emergency Nurse Practitioners, experienced adult and child emergency nurses, Trauma Technicians and Healthcare Assistants.
