The Role
As a Commercial Litigation Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the firm’s solicitors and partners in managing a varied and complex caseload of disputes. This is a hands‑on position offering significant exposure to high‑quality commercial litigation work and the opportunity to develop within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
You will assist in all aspects of dispute resolution, from initial instruction through to trial and enforcement. The role will involve direct client contact, document management, and active participation in case preparation and progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting fee earners with a broad range of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters, including contractual disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, and property litigation.
* Drafting and preparing legal documents, correspondence, witness statements, and court bundles.
* Conducting legal research, preparing case summaries, and assisting with strategy planning.
* Managing disclosure, reviewing evidence, and maintaining accurate case management records.
* Liaising directly with clients, counsel, experts, and third parties to support case progression.
* Assisting in the preparation of trial bundles and liaising with court officials regarding filings and procedural compliance.
* Supporting solicitors in settlement negotiations, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.
* Providing administrative and organisational support, ensuring all deadlines are met and documents filed in accordance with firm and court requirements.
* Handling billing, file management, and compliance tasks in line with internal policies and the SRA Code of Conduct.
About You
* Minimum of 12 months’ experience working within a Commercial Litigation or Dispute Resolution team, ideally in a similar private practice environment.
* Strong academic background (Law degree or equivalent essential; LPC or SQE preferred).
* Excellent drafting and written communication skills with a strong eye for detail.
* Confident in liaising with clients and managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
* Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* A genuine interest in pursuing a career within litigation, with the ambition to progress within a reputable firm.
