Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our busy kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food preparation and cooking. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food production meets the highest standards of quality and safety. You will play a crucial role in managing the kitchen staff, maintaining a harmonious work environment, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
* Manage and prepare meals according to the ingredients available, which may change at short notice because of kind donations
* Supervise food preparation, storage, cooking and serving; to include using correct utensils, equipment, food prep boards / knives, temperature gauges, etc.
* Supervise volunteers; an awareness that they are volunteers with varying skill levels and that it is a volunteer staffed kitchen
* Use correct storage and equipment for different dietary requirements
* Keep daily paperwork for all fridge and freezer temperatures, kitchen cleaning and daily checks as required by The Food Standards Agency
* Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen and in all food storage areas
* Manage the ordering of materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand and provide weekly shopping list for wholesale suppliers
* Organise and store daily food donation deliveries
* Organise menus according to donations received
* Ensure correct use and cleaning of kitchen equipment
* Report any kitchen concerns or faults to the Centre Manager
* Supervise kitchen staffing, rotas and training
* Involved in managing kitchen budget for food and equipment
* To be available for meetings and provide information and reports as required by the Trustees.

Pay: £12.60 per hour
