Overview
We are looking for a kind, reliable and confident Personal Assistant to support a 17-year-old young person with additional needs. The role will begin at the end of August or early September and includes regular hours during both school term time and holidays. Ideally, the PA would be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, with some flexibility for additional hours during school breaks. Support will take place both at home and out in the community.

* Other relevant duties as required
* Support with personal care routines such as showering and getting ready for bed
Settings and Activities
The young person has a rare genetic condition that includes autism, a learning disability, visual impairment, epilepsy, and microcephaly. She is calm, sociable, enjoys music and time outdoors, and benefits from a warm, friendly, but consistent companionship. Activities may include trips to the park, shops or a local café, and encouragement of daily life skills to promote independence.
Qualifications and Qualities
* Experience in supporting children or young people with additional needs or vulnerable people
* Patient, understanding, and able to maintain clear and consistent boundaries
* Experience in care or education, or having children of their own, is favorable
* Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
* Able to follow instructions and work on own initiative
* Hygienic, tidy and well organized
* Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
* Reliable with good timekeeping
* Honest, cheerful and creative
