Full-Time Communication Assistant – (September Start) Axcis Education is working in partnership with a specialist setting in East Devon to recruit a full-time Communication Assistant to start in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with hearing loss and complex needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning and develop their communication and independence skills. About the Role: Full-time, term-time only Supporting deaf children and young people across different age groups Using a range of communication methods, including British Sign Language (BSL), speech, and visual aids Working 1:1 and in small groups Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff Assisting with adapted resources and supporting student engagement The Ideal Candidate Will: Have a genuine interest in supporting deaf students Be confident and proactive, with excellent communication skills Hold a BSL qualification (Level 2 or above desirable) or be willing to train Be flexible and able to work across different learning environments Have experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or care setting Why Join Through Axcis?
