Job Description

Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives? We’re seeking a teaching assistant to join a fantastic SEND school in Ashford.

Why you’ll love working here:
Therapeutic, trauma-informed ethos
Staff work within a psychodynamic, attachment-informed model—supported by in‑house therapists, mentalisation training, and reflective supervision—to help children build trust and emotional resilience
Personalised, relationship-based support
The school ensures every child experiences a safe, dependable environment—a secure base for learning and growth
Strong focus on wellbeing & values
Daily life is rooted in respect, kindness, friendship, honesty, trust, wellbeing—and random acts of kindness are encouraged throughout the school community
Wide-ranging curriculum with real-world connections
From outdoor learning and community visits to Bikeability, sport and forest school, pupils enjoy meaningful opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, physically—and earn qualifications

Who we’re looking for:
Staff who share our belief in hearing each child’s voice, respecting differences, and working reflectively to foster emotional safety and growth. You’ll thrive in a supportive team that values professional learning and genuine impact.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a teaching assistant, or experience working with SEND children outside of a school setting. You should be adaptable and creative, as no two days are the same! The ability to drive is a huge benefit given the location of the school.

Ready to grow with us?
If you’re driven to create positive, lasting change in children’s lives, we’d love to speak with you, so click ‘apply now’ to forward a copy of your CV to us for consideration.
