Position: Geophysicist
You will be working within a team comprising a Geoscience Team Leader and in conjunction with other members of the geoscience team such as the Principal Geophysicist, Senior Geophysicist, Project Geophysicist, and Trainee Geophysicist during the offshore data acquisition phase and office reporting phase of a project.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Performing geophysical work around the process of acquiring, analysing, and interpreting complete and high-quality geophysical data.
2. Providing geophysical advice in one or a small number of specialised technical disciplines.
3. Developing solutions for clients by contextualizing acquired geophysical data.
4. Following prescribed guidelines and procedures, with occasional deviations. Providing on-the-job training to junior colleagues. Receiving a moderate level of guidance and direction. Requiring a college or university degree. Continuing to build knowledge of the organisation, processes, and customers.
Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking an individual who holds a Bachelor’s or MSc degree (or equivalent) in Geophysics, Geology, or a related discipline.
The candidate should have:
* An understanding of geophysical equipment and methods used in investigating shallow marine environments.
* Knowledge of data interpretation, mapping, visualization, and plotting software.
* Practical field experience in marine geophysical survey work, including data acquisition, quality control, and interpretation of side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, and magnetometer data.
* Ability to use Sonarwiz, Kingdom Suite, Oasis Montaj, and ArcGIS (desirable skills).
