We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Officer based at our Appley Bridge Site. The successful candidate will oversee the Health Safety and Environmental activities at the Site.
We are looking for a proactive, process driven and highly organised candidate, who can demonstrate experience within a similar role, or has some experience within a factory/warehouse environment in an administrative/compliance role.
This position will be offered on permanent contract, the post holder would be expected to complete a 6 month probationary period after which they would be confirmed in post if successful.
Some Key Responsibilities include:
* Ensure all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental are adhered to
* Work closely with the Site Manager and Operations team to achieve site action plans
* Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators against targets and advise site team of appropriate/necessary actions required
* Liaise with Site Management team in the implementation of sites environmental and safety management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 etc)
* Implement company policy at all times i.e. compliance with regulations and permits
Experience / Skills
* Previous experience in a manufacturing and experience with changing cultures - desirable
* Effective organisational, time management and administration skills
* Problem solving and Internal audit skills
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
* Work under own initiative and be a good team player
* Risk Assessment Experience
* To be able to prioritise work load
* Confidence to deal with people at all levels
Qualification
·NEBOSH National General certificate – essential
·NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards) – desirable
·Any environmental qualifications – desirable
·IOSH Working Safely – desirable
·National Compliance and Risk Qualifications - desirable
