About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled
Data Center Planner
to join a dynamic infrastructure team supporting an Energy Customer. This hybrid role is ideal for a technically adept individual with experience in datacenter environments, capacity planning, and infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, forecast, and coordinate data center capacity across power, cooling, space, and network.
* Develop and maintain datacenter layout designs, rack elevations, and physical hardware placements.
* Collaborate with IT and Facilities teams to manage hardware deployment roadmaps.
* Monitor datacenter resource utilization and drive infrastructure optimization.
* Manage the full lifecycle of datacenter inventory from procurement to decommission.
* Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards.
* Create and maintain detailed documentation and reporting for capacity planning and asset tracking.
* Support infrastructure projects including expansions, migrations, and hardware refreshes.
* Utilize DCIM tools to maintain accurate infrastructure records and visualizations.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance datacenter efficiency.
* Support Wintel (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) and RHEL environments.
* Manage storage infrastructure (SAN/NAS), including provisioning and performance optimization.
* Flexibility for working in shifts, if required.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in data center operations, capacity planning, or infrastructure engineering.
* Strong understanding of hardware deployment, DCIM tools, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
* Hands-on experience with enterprise Windows and Linux server environments.
* Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage, backup solutions, and high-availability systems.
* Excellent documentation, coordination, and communication skills.
