The Role: The Internal Account Manager is to drive sales and enhance the profitability of Solar PV products within the East Anglia, Cambridge, Essex & North London region by managing and developing internal sales activities and supporting the wider Solar PV growth objectives. This includes identifying and capitalising on opportunities, building strong relationships with existing and new internal sales leads, and implementing sales strategies aligned with company goals. Ensuring high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction is essential for long-term success. This role will also involve working with the wider City group to achieve goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities Drive internal sales and profitability of Solar PV within the East Anglia, Cambridge, Essex & North London region, by proactively engaging with and developing existing and new internal accounts through phone, email, and virtual meetings. Track the sector margin alongside your own regional performance through regular reporting and analysis. Utilise market intelligence, competitor analysis, and industry trends gathered from internal sources and online research to identify potential opportunities for growth and product offerings within the designated region, enabling CPS to become a disruptor in the 'Solar PV' arena. Collaborate closely with branch operational teams via internal communication channels to ensure support for growing the Solar PV category. Identify, build, and maintain strong internal customer relationships by regular proactive communication, to grow the new sector within the group. Work alongside the internal sales team to unlock Solar PV opportunities across the existing customer base through effective lead qualification and follow-up. Develop and implement internal customer strategies for existing and new internal customer bases to maximise sales potential. Work with target branch colleagues of all levels through internal training sessions and regular communications to improve 'Solar PV' awareness and engagement, ensuring branches understand the importance of meeting customer expectations and the benefit to the overall P&H business of being part of the 'Solar PV' strategy. Attend regional internal meetings to provide an internal sales voice for Solar PV and support branch operational teams in unlocking sales and margin opportunities through effective internal coordination. Monitor market ‘Solar PV’ trends and feedback innovations/trends to the sector lead and commercial teams to influence the development of the ‘Solar PV’ range. Attend monthly Solar management meetings to provide updates and learn on the progress of the ‘Solar PV’ market and growth plans. Support on key initiatives to develop the Solar PV proposition. Proactively manage personal development. Continually assesses performance and evaluates ways to improve. Seeks advice and feedback Manage internal customer enquiries and orders from initiation to delivery, ensuring accurate order processing, stock checks, and timely communication with customers and the wider business through internal systems and procedures. Essential- Knowledge in the Solar VP/renewables industry. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others. Superb customer service skills either within a Merchanting or Retail environment. Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise the work of self and others. It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Account Management, Building Products, Construction, Consultative Sales, Customer Relationship, Customer Services, Manufacturing, Plumbing & Heating, Retail, Sales, Telesales, Trade.
