The role – what is it we would like you to do?
We are seeking a construction health and safety professional to serve as a principal designer/CDM2015 independent client advisor. The candidate will ensure project compliance with health and safety laws, share knowledge across projects, and promote innovation.
We welcome applicants working towards the role's requirements; our Glasgow office offers training and development for high-caliber candidates.
Your core duties will include:
* Ensuring compliance with the responsibilities of the principal designer under CDM Regulations 2015
* Assisting clients in fulfilling their duties under CDM Regulations 2015
* Documenting health and safety principles and decisions during feasibility studies
* Advising on project briefs and strategies
* Inspecting sites for hazards and restrictions
* Assisting in appointing designers and contractors
* Reviewing procurement methods' implications on CDM compliance
* Conducting design reviews and coordinating health and safety matters
* Ensuring safe methods for complex designs are established and documented
* Representing the company professionally in client interactions
* Generating new business as a principal designer
What skills and attributes are we looking for from you:
* Membership of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS/IMaPS)
* Experience as a CDM coordinator/principal designer under CDM 2015
* Professional qualification in construction health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH diploma or certificate) is advantageous
* Experience working with private and public sector projects
* Strong communication and technical writing skills
* Organized, proactive, assertive, disciplined, and commercially aware
* Team-oriented with a positive attitude, respectful, and adaptable
* Self-motivated and well-organized
* Valid driving license
