Job Summary: To undertake MRI Scanning duties within the Northern Trust
on all sites. Antrim and Causeway.
To participate in 7 day working and extended working day.
JOB SPECIFICATION for Locum MRI Radiographer
1. Degree or diploma in Radiography.
2. Current HCPC Registration.
3. At least 2 years post qualification experience in Diagnostic Radiography
4. 1 years experience in MRI
5. MRI experience working with GE Optima 450W 1.5T and Siemens Sola scanners
6. MRI PGCert desirable
7. PGCert or equivalent in IV cannulation
8. Participate in flexible working sessions including evenings and weekends & BH’s throughout the Northern Trust
9. Good communicative skills.
10. Knowledge of role of Radiographer in MRI Imaging.
11. Knowledge of MR Safety
12. Access NI check required
13. Good general health for the demands of the post

35. Advise and assist staff of a more junior grade by providing advice based on knowledge and experience within the MRI team.
36. Undertaking MRI scanning in Antrim Hospital or any other hospital in the Northern Trust if required
37. Ability to liaise with relevant individuals and groups and establish good working relationships which support continual quality initiatives
38. Ensure that personal quality of work is evaluated against performance and departmental quality standards
39. The SOR and HPC codes of professional conduct for Radiographers
40. Ensuring that equipment is properly maintained, reporting any deficiencies, malfunctions, defects or occurrence which may affect safety to the Radiographer in Charge
41. Maintaining a high standard of patient care with particular regard to MRI safety.
42. Acting as a Professional in treating each patient as an individual in terms of courtesy, kindness, sympathy and confidentiality.
