An exciting opportunity to work as a Health Care Assistant in our evolving Medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) are has become available.
Chesterfield's Medical SDEC has recently relocated within the Trust to a new and renovated area. You will be working with a great team who are dedicated to the patients who attend the unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist qualified nursing staff with the provision of individualised nursing care. You will support the nursing team in the achievement of ward objectives and provide support to relatives/carers.

Person Specification
Qualifications & training
* oGrade 4/GCSE D or above (or equivalent) in Maths & English
* oQCF level 2 Clinical Healthcare Support or willing to work towards and complete within 12 months or relevant experience
* oCare Certificate (or willing to work towards)
* oHealth Related Training, First Aid, Moving & Handling, Food Handling
Experience
* oUnderstands the need for confidentiality
* oUnderstands & committed to a caring approach to patients, relatives/carers
* oExperience or working in an acute medical setting for above 1 year
* oExperience working in a surgical/Medicine/emergency care setting.
* oExperience in a NHS/health care setting.
Skills & knowledge
* oAble to demonstrate a caring approach to patients & relatives & works so that patients' dignity & respect is maintained at all times.
* oAble to communicate routine information including observations effectively verbally & written to staff, patients/relatives.
* oAble to prioritise own workload.
