Food Safety ManagerSalary:Competitive salary plus 10% bonusBenefits:Sodexo benefits/Car allowanceHours:Monday to FridayLocation:No fixed location - Travel required around the London area/Ireland required.This role does require regular travel to our sites across the London area and occasional travel to Ireland.Role PurposeThe Food Safety & Health & Safety Manager is responsible for driving high standards of food safety and supporting health and safety compliance across a portfolio of catering operations. The role ensures all services are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with Sodexo UK & Ireland policies, while promoting a strong, proactive safety culture.Working closely with catering managers, site teams, and central functions, the role provides expert guidance, supports continuous improvement, and helps deliver operational and client safety objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Safety (Primary Focus)Lead the implementation of the Food Safety Management System across multi-site catering operationsConduct food safety audits, inspections, and hygiene reviewsProvide expert advice on HACCP, allergen management, hygiene, temperature control, and supplier assuranceSupport, coach, and train catering managers and teams in food safety best practiceManage corrective actions and ensure timely closure of non-conformancesLiaise with Environmental Health Officers and external authorities as requiredHealth & SafetySupport implementation of Health & Safety policies, procedures, and risk management initiativesPromote a positive safety culture, including near-miss reportingLead accident and incident investigations and root cause analysisSupport business continuity and risk management activityReporting & PerformanceMonitor performance against safety targets and KPIsProvide monthly and quarterly performance updatesEnsure timely reporting and investigation of all food safety and HSE incidentsAccountabilitiesCompliance with all relevant food safety and health & safety legislation and company standardsEffective support to operational teams, adding value and driving improvementDelivery of initiatives that support Sodexo and client safety targetsReduction in incidents and improvement in safety performance indicatorsPerson SpecificationEssentialDegree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Environmental Health, or related disciplineLevel 4 Award in Food Safety (or equivalent)NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalentStrong knowledge of UK food safety legislation and HACCPExperience in a multi-site catering or foodservice environmentExcellent communication and influencing skillsFull UK driving licence and willingness to travelKey CompetenciesPassionate about food safety and customer wellbeingDetail-oriented and methodicalCollaborative and approachablePractical, solutions-focused mindsetSelf-motivated with strong organisational skillsWhy Sodexo?:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it's a chance to be part of something greater.Belongin a company and team that values you for you.
