We are seeking a full-time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our tertiary hospital team.
Our maternity service offers a variety of specialist clinics including mental health, vulnerable service users, twins, preterm birth, small baby, and Rainbow clinics. The service involves multi-professional teams, including specialist midwives.
The obstetric duties include routine and emergency obstetrics, with non-resident on-call duties for obstetrics. Responsibilities include providing labour suite cover, elective caesarean lists, ward rounds, maternity triage, assessment unit cover, and antenatal clinics.
Gynaecology responsibilities include elective and emergency procedures, participation in out-of-hours on-call rota, and support for rapid access services such as 2WW clinics, postmenopausal bleeding, and colposcopy clinics. The role involves theatre work, vetting, and providing advice and guidance.
We operate a two-tier gynaecology on-call rota, with coverage at QMC campus and City hospital for emergency and complex surgeries, including oncology support.

Person Specification
Essential: GMC registration, MRCOG, relevant CCT or equivalent, ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice, clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, leadership skills, audit or quality improvement experience, effective communication, ability to work under pressure, organisational skills, supportiveness, and teamwork.
Desirable: Additional training in benign gynaecology, colposcopy, vulval disease, paediatric gynaecology, research publications, higher teaching qualifications, and medical education training.
Practical Requirements
* Travel between hospital sites

* Residence within 30 minutes of hospital
