At GRAHAM, we are committed to growth and innovation. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for enthusiastic Graduates and Technical Apprentices to join our Design Team within our Building Division.
As a Trainee Design Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in bringing construction projects from concept to reality. Working alongside designers, engineers, and project managers, you’ll help coordinate drawings, plans, and technical information to make sure everything fits together on site. You don’t need specialist experience to start, just an interest in how things are built, a good eye for detail, and the drive to learn.
This role gives you the chance to develop practical skills while building your understanding of the design process in construction. Whether you’ve come from university or entering onto a technical apprenticeship pathway, you’ll gain hands-on experience, grow your confidence with digital tools, and see how your work directly contributes to creating real buildings and infrastructure.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:Design Support:
1. Assist in the development and coordination of design proposals.
2. Support the design team in preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules.
3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions are practical and meet project requirements.
Project Documentation:
4. Help maintain project documentation, ensuring all design information is accurate and up-to-date.
5. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other project-related documents.
Site Visits:
6. Conduct site visits to understand construction processes and gather relevant data.
7. Assist in monitoring the implementation of design solutions on site.
Technical Assistance:
8. Provide technical support to the design team during the construction phase.
9. Assist in resolving design-related issues and queries from the site team.

10. Currently studying, or intending to study, a higher or degree-level qualification in a construction-related field
11. Strong interest in construction and design.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Some knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit
14. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
15. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

TECHNICIAL APPRENTICESHIP
Technical Apprenticeships are available at a number of entry points from GCSE, A Level or BTEC awards, we are currently seeking to recruit individuals hoping to transition onto a Higher-Level or Degree Level Apprenticeship, which are offered from Level 4 to Level 7.
A Higher Apprenticeship provides a structured pathway to develop your skills while earning a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the workplace alongside dedicated study time, with all training costs fully funded. These programmes offer a clear route to professional body membership and can lead to rewarding careers.
GRADUATES
We offer a two year programme which focuses on developing your technical and interpersonal skills. In addition, a structured, mentored training programme, aligned to a recognised professional qualification, will set you on the pathway to chartership. Through early responsibility you’ll learn quickly on challenging projects with the opportunity for fast track career advancement.
