Job title:Mechanical CAD/ Draughting Technician
Location:Rochester
Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
* Create manufacturing data packs, including technical drawings, to industry standards, including BS888 and ASME Y14, implementing GD&T to appropriately control the product definition
* Manage work packages for yourself and other Mechanical Technicians, either for one major program or across several programs
* Working with the Team Leader to monitor/control task completion against agreed schedules and budgets
* Be an authority for drawing/data approvals within data control systems such as Teamcenter ensuring the required procedures are followed for release
* Coordinate progress of changes through the appropriate configuration management process
* Understand and use data managements systems such as PDM-Link in an administrative role as required
* Understand and provide governance on the adherence of Engineers and Technicians to industry, departmental, and company policies, procedures and standards
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* BTEC/ Higher National Diploma level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drawing, or related subject, or an equivalent combination of other qualifications and experience
* Experience in preparing manufacturing data sets, including technical drawing, bills of materials, and change management documentation
* Competence in the use of CAD tools
Desirable:
* Proficiency in the CREO CAD system and experience using Teamcenter and Jira

The Mechanical Engineering team:
The main duty of this role is to provide expert Mechanical Engineering drawing support to create and maintain manufacturing data packs, in support of the design and development of our avionic systems.
As a Senior Technician, you will work with other technicians and design engineers, to understand the design detail in order to deliver technical drawings, documentation, and change control. Working to a high level of accuracy and quality, using industry standards, in accordance to schedule and budget constraints.
