HVAC Service Engineer
Location: Glasgow (field–based across Central Scotland)
Salary: 37,000 – 47,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent, Full–Time
Benefits: Company van, fuel card, overtime, call–out, pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays
An established HVAC company is recruiting an experienced HVAC Service Engineer to cover Glasgow and the wider Central Scotland area. This is a service and maintenance–focused role working across commercial and light industrial environments.
The Role
* Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
* Fault diagnosis across electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components
* Service and maintenance of:
o Split & multi–split air conditioning systems
o VRV / VRF systems
o AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems
o Heat pumps and chillers (experience dependent)
* Leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging
* Completion of service reports, F–Gas records, and compliance documentation
* Liaison with clients, site contacts, and support teams
* Compliance with F–Gas regulations, health & safety, and site procedures
* Participation in an on–call rota (typically 1 in 6–8)
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience as an HVAC or AC Service Engineer
* F–Gas Category 1
* Strong fault–finding and diagnostic skills
* Good electrical and mechanical knowledge
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently in a mobile role
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
* Experience with chillers, heat pumps, or BMS–controlled systems
* 18th Edition (BS7671)
* IPAF / PASMA
* Commercial service and maintenance background
Working Environment
* Commercial and light industrial sites including offices, retail, healthcare, education, and distribution
* Service–led role (no installation bias)
* Strong technical and administrative support
* Realistic workloads and organised call–out structure
