Project Details

The successful candidate will manage construction claims and complex adjudications involving Tier 1 and 2 contractors and specialist subcontractors. The work will involve collaborating closely with solicitors and clients on a range of dispute resolution assignments across the construction and engineering sectors.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Sector Lead for the Construction Disputes division will:

1. Lead a growing team delivering high-quality construction dispute resolution services
• Manage complex claims and adjudication
2. Provide strategic contractual and commercial advice to clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute
3. Oversee client relationships with Tier 1 and 2 contractors, specialist subcontractors, and legal advisors/ solicitors
4. Develop and implement business development and marketing strategies to expand the disputes practice
5. Contribute to company leadership and sector strategy within construction disputes
6. Support recruitment, training, and mentoring of junior staff where required

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

7. Previous experience in quantity surveying and experience working with standard forms of contracts such as NEC.
8. Significant experience working on construction claims and adjudications
9. Well connected in the construction industry
10. Proven leadership and business development capability
11. Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and dispute resolution procedures
12. Excellent client-facing and networking skills

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

13. Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar discipline (essential)
14. LLM in Construction Law or similar (preferred)
15. Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body (preferred)
