We are working with a highly regarded global long-only investment manager to source an Equity Analyst to support Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers. Based in their London office, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality investment research and maintaining deep insight into portfolio companies and opportunities with a focus on the financials sector.
The firm has a long standing reputation for delivering top quartile returns and is widely seen as one of the best in their peer group.
Key Responsibilities
* Supports Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers through industry and security research, idea generation, stock screening, comp sheets, and alternative data analysis.
* Designs and iterates AI-enabled research workflows, including prompt libraries, retrieval systems, and automation tools, to improve research efficiency and free up time for investment judgment and synthesis.
* Builds and maintains financial models, develops forecasting assumptions, and evaluates companies using DCF, ratio analysis, and other valuation methodologies.
* Participates in earnings calls and company meetings, synthesizing information to support investment decisions.
* Produces written company and industry research and contributes to investment presentations.
Requirements
* Around 2-4 years’ experience in buy or sell-side equity research, investment banking or private equity (we would be very interested in candidates from FIG IB)
* Experience of covering the financials sector (ideally banks)
* Strong financial modelling, accounting, and valuation skills, with a desire to produce deep dive research
* Demonstrated interest in equity markets and value investing
* Excellent analytical and communication skills
* Experience with data platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet)
* Progress towards CFA is advantageous but not a pre-requisite
* Proactive, intellectually curious, and interested in AI-driven research tools
* Already based in London/UK
