Occupational Therapist
A service in East Riding is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Community OT Team. Focused on supporting individuals in the community with complex moving and handling needs, as well as major adaptations under the DFG process.
Main Duties:
* Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments within a Local Authority setting
* Assess and manage complex moving and handling cases in the community
* Complete assessments for major adaptations under the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process
* Develop and implement person‑centred intervention plans to support independent living
* Recommend appropriate equipment and structural adaptations
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including health and social care professionals
* Manage and prioritise a complex community‑based caseload
* Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues within the service
Requirements:
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Previous experience working in community settings or within a Local Authority
* Experience with complex moving and handling assessments
* Experience completing major adaptations and working within the DFG process
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication, organisational, and clinical decision‑making skills
* Ability to travel within the community as required
