Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice on a global scale.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Help ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and within network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal guidance.
* Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Make presentations and publish articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements; advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex cases, collaborating with business teams.
* Ability to balance legal risks with business needs in a fast-growing global environment.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
