What’s the role all about?
As the Machining Team Leader, you’ll oversee daily operations across the CNC machining department on a Double Day Shift, ensuring production targets, quality and safety standards are consistently met.
You’ll lead, coach and develop a team of machinists, while helping to solve technical problems and improve processes across the shop floor.
You’ll be responsible for:
Leading a team of CNC Machinists across the Double Day Shift
Organising daily workloads to meet customer demand and delivery schedules
Providing technical support on set-ups, tooling and machining issues
Ensuring production output, efficiency and quality are achieved
Supporting training, performance reviews and team development
Monitoring KPIs such as downtime, scrap and throughput
Working with Quality, Maintenance and Planning teams to resolve issues
Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
This is a practical leadership role where you’ll be visible on the shop floor and directly involved in helping the team perform at their best.
What you’ll need
To be successful as a Machining Team Leader, you’ll bring:
CNC machining experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong knowledge of CNC equipment (Mazak, Haas, or similar)
Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools
Good understanding of Lean, 5S and CI practices
A hands-on leadership style and a positive approach to problem-solving
