Our client are a long standing and well-established fabrication business looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer / Draughtsman with experience of fabrication. The business design, manufacture and install architectural metalwork covering staircases, balustrades, canopies, balconies, mezzanines and bespoke fabrication work. The appointed Mechanical Design Engineer / Draughtsman will be responsible for developing and delivering design solutions to meet customers expectations in line with current regulations, supplier parameters and job budgets.
Draughtsman - Role and Responsibilities - Mechanical Design Engineer, Fabrication, Metalwork, CAD
1. Creating accurate technical drawings based on given measurements, specifications and calculations for steel fabrication – platforms, staircases, mezzanines etc.
2. Develop technical solutions based on customer briefs and specifications and develop these to a stage where they can be manufactured and installed.
3. Deliver compliant designs to the Production Manager that meets quality, cost and time objectives.
4. Perform calculations for materials and weight limitations.
5. Eliminate all errors and incorporates feedback and improvements into the design.
6. Produce manufacturing drawings that are clear and user friendly.
