As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Head of Logistics to join our team based at Chorley, reporting to the Operations Director.
Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Logistics will be responsible for transportation and distribution across the company to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery and collection of goods.
Primarily based at Chorley, travel to all of One Stop Hire's UK based sites will be a requirement of the role.
Key aspects of the role will include:
* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with business growth objectives.
* Operational Management: Oversee all transportation (delivery and collection) activities to ensure a seamless service for our customers.
* Performance Optimization: Analyse data to identify bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
* Team Leadership: Mentor staff to improve productivity.
* Supplier Management: Negotiate contracts with vendors, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations, goods handling, and legal standards.
* Technology: Integration and maintenance of an AI based logistics software programme and previous experience with transport software is essential.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Experience: Several years' experience in logistics or supply chain management at Senior Manager level.
· Management Skills: Proven track record of leading and engaging teams.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in the effective implementation and embedding of logistics software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
· Soft Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
