Premises officer

We're looking for a Premises Officer to join our Lewisham PFI Schools team based in Lewisham.

Location: Deptford Green School, Lewisham
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

The Premises Officer plays an essential role in ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our school premises. This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference by maintaining a welcoming, safe, and well-functioning environment for pupils and staff. You'll be part of a supportive team, working proactively to manage maintenance tasks, respond quickly to issues, and coordinate activities that keep our schools running smoothly. What will you be responsible for?

As a Premises Officer, you'll be working within the Lewisham PFI Schools team, supporting them in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming school environments. Your day to day will include:

• Conducting regular quality checks of the premises to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality
• Carrying out minor repairs such as fixing light fixtures, addressing plumbing issues, and maintaining door hardware
• Performing planned preventative maintenance and liaising with external contractors for larger repairs
• Assisting school staff with porterage tasks including furniture moving, display mounting, and equipment repairs
• Maintaining site security by opening and locking gates, patrolling the premises, and responding to incidents according to school procedures
