Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
My client is one of the UK's biggest housebuilders building quality homes nationwide. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for an experienced driven Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team to support a variety of residential developments. Reporting to the Senior QS/Commercial manager, you'll be instrumental in managing costs and securing the financial success of projects across the North Midlands.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:
* Preparing and managing detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for residential projects
* Conducting regular valuations and cost reporting to track financial progress.
* Managing procurement processes and negotiating subcontractor and supplier contracts
* Identifying and mitigating financial risks throughout the project lifecycle
* Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to control costs.
* Ensuring compliance with contractual and company policies, and maintaining accurate cost reporting and documentation
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
* HND or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction or equivalent
* Must have residential /housebuilder experience
* Strong commercial awareness and a good understand of budget management.
* Excellent communication and networking skills
* Good IT skills and proficient with COINs and other relevant software
* Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to reconcile any potential cost disputes.
* Able to work independently and part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
