The Project Engineer will work as a member of the Retro Fit team to manage and provide the necessary engineering detail so that our solutions can be built safely, to all relevant standards and cost effectively. Project Engineers work on multiple projects with a value from £50k up to £5 million and will ensure the development of engineered solutions from customer commitment through implementation and handover.
The role is based out of our Market Harborough office and will be expected to travel regularly to our sites across Northern Europe.
WHAT YOULL BE HANDLING Translate customer request into a design solution with support from Project Engineering Team Leader (& others)
Review of design operational feasibility
Review of Material Flow Diagram in conjunction with Simulation dept
Value engineering of solution
Preparation of appropriate system layouts to provide solution to customer requirements
Preparation of site mechanical installation packs
Preparation of detailed specifications and design documents needed for production
Review of equipment design and specifications to ensure standardisation of design across all projects.
Review of equipment throughputs and capacities in conjunction with Simulation Dept
Preparation of the project technical summary
Technical specifications for 3rd party equipment
Technical analysis of 3rd party equipment quotations
Development of design risk assessments and the review of projects to ensure that all current legislation is fully complied with
Participation in regular design team reviews including the preparation of adequate minutes
Participation in project review meetings
Surveying of sites and installations
Management of general project documentation
Assistance in the preparation of H&S files / technical files. General use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio, Outlook) and CAD Software (AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Navisworks, Trimble) software in execution of the above.
Ensure that the appropriate TGW equipment is used (Technical detail engineering)
Provide technical support to sales team as required Attend customer meetings as required.
Knowledge of the regulations of the local authorities
Designing to the relevant CE norms / legislations standards.
Identify add value opportunities.
Collaborative, supportive and integrative working with the other TGW colleagues and departments.
Maintain and develop departmental processes to ensure a continuous drive towards improving efficiency.
Identify cost saving opportunities for TGW
WHAT YOULL NEED Essential
Previous experience in a Project Engineering role within an automated materials handling environment
Skilled in setting up a design in AutoCAD & Material Cost Calculation
Previous experience with providing management information to customers and TGW management
Experience with being part of technical engineering and/or concept sales teams
Willing to travel within the UK and Northern Europe for client meetings and other TGW entities
Desirable
Experience with working with SLA agreements with supplying partners
