A well-established and highly respected commercial law firm is expanding its dispute resolution team across its Wigan and Liverpool offices. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified and those with post-qualification experience to join a growing team handling a varied and engaging caseload of commercial disputes.
The Role
You will work closely with experienced litigators on a wide range of commercial dispute matters, gaining exposure to high-quality work while developing your technical and client management skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with and managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters
* Working on disputes including breach of contract, shareholder/director issues, debt recovery, professional negligence and general business disputes
* Supporting on all stages of litigation, from pre-action through to trial and enforcement
* Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and legal research
* Attending client meetings, court hearings and mediations where appropriate
* Collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver effective client outcomes
* Supporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships
About You
* NQ + PQE with background from litigation (civil or commercial), housing despair, personal injury, dispute resolution, debt recovery
* Strong academic background and solid technical grounding
* A keen interest in developing a career in commercial disputes
* Confident communicator with good client-facing skills
* Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
* A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
