Support Worker - Permanent - Full TimeID: 282981Job Specialism: Operations - SouthLocation: ExeterSalary: £12.50 per hourClosing Date: Friday, 18th July 2025Looking for a new challenge?Sense is looking for Support Workers to join our service in Exeter, working 27 hours per week for £12.50 per hour.This is a challenging role, but incredibly rewarding. You will be part of an award winning team, providing outstanding care and support. We will support you both personally and professionally to develop the skills / knowledge and experience to support individuals who have learning disabilities, sensory impairments and may display behaviours of concern. Each person we support has a unique way of communicating and understanding the world around them. We support a range of complex health needs within the service, there are moving and handling needs for some we support due to physical disabilities.The people we support are unique in their needs / wants and wishes and you will have fun supporting them in their various interests from sports activities and events, musicals, opera\\\'s and festivals, celebrating special events and connecting with the local and wider community, as well as engaging people in meaningful activities within their own home.This role operates on a rolling 4 week rota, with day and afternoon shifts that include every other weekend.We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who are:Positive, with a can-do attitude.Caring and empathetic.Passionate about enhancing other people’s lives.Willing to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in health and social care or equivalent (or already have one).Have some experience with adults with learning disabilities, deafblindness and behaviours that challenge.May have some BSL skills. A full UK Driver\\\'s License is desirable for this role. Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. This role in Exeter might include supporting people with:Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning.Personal care and hygiene.Finances.Medication and wellbeing.Going into the community for shopping or other trips.Their social life and nightlife.Everyone we support is an individual, so their care is as unique as they are.
