We are recruiting for a Bid Writer to join our growing team.
Bid Writer - About the Role:
As a Bid Writer, you will take ownership of researching, developing, and writing bid proposals. This includes collating key data, coordinating with stakeholders such as estimating and operational leads, managing their contributions, and ensuring timely completion of written requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the bid lifecycle from review to submission, including post-bid activities.
* Follow SBS bid management protocols and processes.
* Produce initial Bid/No Bid assessments to inform decision-making.
* Complete Tender Reviews for approved bids and distribute to relevant team members.
* Arrange Tender Kick-off meetings and conduct storyboarding sessions with stakeholders.
* Support the Senior Bid Coordinator with complex responses (e.g., SQ and DPS).
* Develop relationships with bid contributors, including internal teams and external partners, to develop high-quality bid responses.
* Capture and incorporate feedback to improve future bids, including lessons learned exercises.
* Maintain the bid library, ensuring all information is current.
* Assist the team during busy periods and cover bid admin responsibilities when needed.
* Attend networking, procurement, and bidding events as required.
* Work with the Business Development team to gather market intelligence.
* Ensure timely upload of bids and submissions.
* Gather market, competitor, and client intelligence as needed.
* Apply continuous improvement principles.
* Support team members proactively and collaborate across departments.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree educated or minimum 2 years’ experience as a Bid Writer.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with bid management processes and procedures.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams; strong document formatting skills.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Degree in relevant subjects such as Marketing or English.
* Experience in a similar role or industry.
* Marketing experience is advantageous.
* Understanding of retrofit projects is beneficial.
* Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop.
* Confident in representing the business at external events, e.g., conferences.
