* An established IT Solutions Provider is seeking a Senior 3rd Line Engineer to play a key role in delivering advanced infrastructure support and project delivery across a diverse client base.
* This role combines senior level technical escalation, infrastructure project ownership, and client facing solution delivery. You will work across complex environments supporting servers, virtualisation, networking, cloud platforms, and security technologies.
* You will act as a technical leader within the engineering team while helping clients modernise and strengthen their IT environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert level 3rd line support across server infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and security systems.
* Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues.
* Lead infrastructure projects including server migrations, virtualisation deployments, Azure implementations, and network upgrades.
* Design and deliver tailored IT solutions based on client needs.
* Manage and support virtualised environments using Hyper V or VMware.
* Support and maintain Microsoft Azure environments including virtual machines, identity, and storage.
* Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions.
* Maintain secure and resilient infrastructure across on premises and cloud environments.
* Configure and manage firewalls and core networking technologies.
* Work directly with clients to understand requirements and guide technical implementations.
* Maintain documentation and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the team.
* Support security best practice through implementation of endpoint protection and infrastructure hardening.
Technical Skills and Experience:
* Strong experience with Windows Server environments.
* Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
* Hands on experience with Hyper V or VMware.
* Experience working with Microsoft Azure including virtual machines, identity, and storage.
* Backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam, Cove, or Acronis.
* Strong networking fundamentals including VLANs, subnetting, TCP IP, and VPNs.
* Firewall experience with Fortinet, WatchGuard, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
* Experience with storage solutions such as Dell or Synology.
* Knowledge of endpoint security tools such as Microsoft Defender or Sophos.
* Experience delivering infrastructure projects including migrations and upgrades.
* Background
* Experience working within a Managed Service Provider or IT Solutions environment is highly desirable.
