A welcoming primary school in Chelmsford is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child who has Special Educational Needs (SEN), starting this September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting a child’s development, both academically and socially, while being part of a friendly and supportive school community.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to help the child engage with learning and school life.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans and strategies.
* Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
* Adapt activities and resources to meet the child’s individual needs.
* Build a strong, trusting relationship with the child and their family.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or childcare setting.
* A caring, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning.
* Ability to work as part of a team with teachers and other staff.
* Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
* Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
