We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a well-established company.
The Package:
The basic salary for the Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer role is per hour
You’ll also receive other benefits which include the following:
1. 30-minute unpaid lunch break
2. 2 x 15-minute paid breaks (morning and afternoon)
3. 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
4. Additional 1 day’s holiday per year after 3 years of service (up to a maximum of 28 days)
The standard hours for this role are Mon-Fri (40 Hours) with opportunities for overtime
The Role:
The Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer will undertake the testing and repairs of AC stators and DC armatures in an efficient manner.
As the Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer, you will be responsible for:
5. Dismantle and inspect electric motors, fault find and complete reports.
6. Re-build electric motors to specification.
7. Dismantle and assessment of electric motors.
8. Strip stators and record technical specification.
9. Manufacture coils.
10. Copy wind stators.
11. Re-connect stator based on technical information.
12. Armature winding and connecting of commutator.
13. Re-assembly of motor.
The Candidate:
To be the right person for the Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer role you will require:
Essential Skills:
14. Time-served apprenticeship.
15. Minimum of five years’ experience in motor rewinds/ an Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer role.
16. Strong knowledge of electrical connections.
17. A high level of understanding of winding stators and armatures.
18. Ability to interpret winding diagrams.
Preferred Skills:
19. Experience of mechanical repairs (pumps / gearboxes / fans).
20. Experience of dismantling and inspecting rotating equipment.
21. An understanding of electro-mechanical equipment.
