Elevation Recruitment Group’s Technical Engineering division is currently working with a global, leading manufacturing business in their search for a Technical Manager. The position centres around maximising the productivity and efficiency of an established technical division, developing a range of business critical KPI's and taking on responsibility for the technical divisions projects / capex delivery. The Technical Managers duties & Responsibilities will include: Lead the Technical Team to improve key metrics of yield, scrap, right first time, and others as required. Champion the drive to Zero Defects by implementing training within the Technical Department and the wider business. Develop, implement, validate and continuously improve methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting requirements for safety, quality, cost and lead time. Investigate product and process quality issues. Support the review of material referred for quality reasons in a timely manner and action appropriately. Support the Quality Manager in responding to customer concerns by utilizing the expertise within the Technical Department. Provide support for employees, external customers, or suppliers with regard to process performance and product quality and conformance to both internal and external specifications. Support systematic and periodic reviews of production systems and processes to ensure adherence with Standard Instructions and that product conformance to specification and process capability standards are maintained or improved. Report agreed key performance indicators relating to department performance against benchmark or targets, where specified, at a frequency agreed with the Manager. To be considered for the Technical Manager role you will need: Degree – Metallurgy / Materials Science. Preferably Masters or PhD. Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher. At least 10 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry. Has provided leadership to a team of Technical staff.
