About the Job? We are looking for a proactive and organised Science Technician to join the science department of a busy secondary school in the Erdington area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and practical learning of students by providing essential technical support in a fast-paced school environment. Role Responisbilites: Prepare and maintain equipment and materials for practical science lessons across all key stages. Set up experiments and demonstrations, ensuring all safety procedures are strictly followed. Manage and organise the science stockroom and inventory, ordering supplies as necessary. Assist teaching staff during lessons, helping students with practical work and ensuring equipment is used correctly. Maintain and check laboratory equipment to ensure it is in safe working order. Support health and safety compliance in the science laboratories, including risk assessments and waste disposal. Carry out general administrative duties related to the science department as required. Role Requirements: A keen interest in science and practical applications. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and a helpful, approachable attitude. Previous experience in a laboratory or technical role is desirable but not essential.
