Mission of the position
Ensure that all external suppliers consistently deliver materials that meet our quality and engineering standards. This role manages the full supplier lifecycle, from initial selection and auditing to performance monitoring, with a specific focus on implement the Inspection and test plan for incoming goods for new projects, as well as performing FAIs (first article inspections) of key/safety-critical products at CAF or suppliers’ sites.
Functions and responsibilities
Conduct technical and quality system audits on potential new or current suppliers to assess their capabilities/risk level or identify necessary improvements.
Drive the quality planning process using methodologies such as APQP, PPAP and FAI, to ensure suppliers can produce parts to specification prior to mass production.
Monitor and analyse supplier quality performance metrics, implementing action plans when required, focusing on continuous improvement.
Lead suppliers in conducting root cause analysis for quality failures using problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings/workflows to review and approve supplier concession requests, retrofitting the necessary actions to the SQA team and/or other departments.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings/workflows to review technical suppliers' answers and reports to an NC, retrofitting the necessary information to the original NC report and the people involved.
Monitor and approve on-site supplier visits to implement modifications and/or corrective actions.
Onboard and train suppliers on company-specific quality protocols and quality management tools
Supports the Supplier Quality Manager in ensuring that the customer’s or other requirements are fulfilled

Engineering Degree Qualified
ISO 9001 or IRIS Auditor Qualification (Internal or Lead Auditor)

Lean Manufacturing Methodologies
Level 2 Welding Inspector – CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent
Level 2 Paint/Coating Inspector – ICorr or equivalent
