Starting in September 2024, this full-time, permanent position is perfect for someone passionate about science and eager to support the educational development of our students.
As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our science department. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting teachers during practical lessons, and ensuring a safe and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
* Assist teachers and students during practical experiments and demonstrations
* Maintain and repair laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition
* Manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals, ordering as necessary
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the laboratory
* Support the science department in organising and running extracurricular activities and science fairs
Requirements:
* A strong background in science, with relevant qualifications or experience
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
