We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Complementary Therapist to join our Therapies Team, as a Complementary Therapy Co-ordinatoranddrive forward Royal Trinitys vision and values to ensure safe and outstandingcare for our patients on the inpatientunit (IPU), outpatients and those attending our Living Well Service helpingthem to make the best of every moment.
Main duties of the job
* To lead and co-ordinate theprovision of a patient-centred Complementary Therapy Service for palliativecare patients admitted to the inpatient unit (IPU), and attending our Living WellOut-patient services by offering hands-on therapies (such as massage,aromatherapy, reflexology, acupuncture and Reiki) and supporting groupactivities.
* To recruit, train and co-ordinate volunteer Complementary Therapists providing management support and mentorship.
* The role also includes the organisation andprovision of complementary therapies to Royal Trinity staff to enhance theirwell-being.

Job responsibilities
Main Job Purpose
To lead and co-ordinate theprovision of a patient centred Complementary Therapy Service to patientsaccessing Royal Trinity Hospice services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Providea patient-centred Complementary Therapy Service to palliative care patients admittedto the inpatient unit (IPU), or attending Living Well (LW) Out-patient servicesand support Trinity Hospice staff wellbeing programme.
* Recruit, trainand co-ordinate volunteer complementary therapists to deliver a safe, equitable,professional and holistic service.
* Assess,prioritise and allocate referrals made to the Complementary Therapy Serviceusing extensive knowledge of contraindications to treatments, combined withknowledge of life-limiting illnesses and symptoms.
* Establishindividualised complementary therapy treatment plans and review regularly basedon need.
* Educate andcommunicate the Complementary Therapy Service (CT) purpose, evidence base andvalue, both internally and externally.
* Workindependently and as part of the inter-disciplinary team (IDT) applying skillsin complementary therapy, including holistic assessment, treatment planning,goals setting, intervention and evaluation (use of outcome measures), whichincludes individual and group orientated approaches, to ensure seamless andresponsive care is provided to patients.
* Work withinthe Therapies team, consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, aDietitian, a Therapy assistant and volunteer complementary therapists,reporting directly to the Therapies Lead; you will work closely with other teammembers and supervise junior members of staff, students and volunteers asrequired.
* Contribute to theevaluation and continued development of the Living Well Service in line withdepartmental and Royal Trinity wide objectives/ work plan.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualification in reflexology, aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture or similar modality, with relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
* Recognised and up to date registration relating to your qualification with the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) or another Professional Standards Authority-accredited register
* A passion for working with patients with palliative care needs
* Strong team working skills, a positive and professional outlook
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the emotional, physical and psychological needs of our patients
* Enthusiasm and a flexible attitude to work
