About the role We have an exciting opportunity available to join us as a Chef, working in our John Lewis Distribution Centre in Origin Park, London. As a Chef, you’ll work alongside our enthusiastic catering team, providing nutritious, delicious meals for our Partners to enjoy whilst maintaining the highest possible kitchen standards. At a glance Due to the nature of the role you will need to be Over 18 years old to apply We are looking for a part time Chef, to join our site here at Origin Park (Customer Delivery Hub, Distribution Site) The nearest train station is Park Royal but also has bus routes for transport connections. Working pattern 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 07:30 - 16:00 with two 30 minute breaks Salary range - The full time annual salary for this role is between £26,200 - £30,000, depending on skills and experience. Overtime is a featured but not guaranteed Contract type - This is a permanent role About the role You also can view a copy of the full job outline here:- External applicants- please view the attached job outline Internal applicants- please use the link below Essential skills you’ll need:- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate. - Level 2 Professional Cookery NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent Operational experience in a professional kitchen environment Desirable skills you could bring Working towards Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 3 Culinary skills or equivalent NVQ Level 2 and 3 Professional Cookery NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent What will you do: Full Site & Department Induction training from day 1 Experience in Industrial catering advantageous Knife skills Covering all aspects of cooking Menu creation using fresh ingredients Fast hot environment Customer service daily Understanding the food safety management system-Food safety policy & COSHH chemical handling Using our Food Monitoring systems to take food temperatures & delivery temperatures Supporting Hospitality Catering Asst & Apprentices The new starter will be put through online training Food Safety Level 2 within 3 months & Food safety level 3 straight after both of these will be mandatory once in role Hands on in all areas including cleaning ,stock control, putting deliveries away ,counter service ,shift close down Supporting with ordering Responsible for Kitchen when Sous Chef is not on site Job Requirements: Apply the John Lewis food safety policies and procedures which include all legislation applicable to the Catering operation Ability to oversee the opening, closing and daily running of the operation Prepare, serve and present food to a high standard What Happens Next?
