Job Purpose:
As Assistant Company Secretary at Burberry, you will provide efficient, high-quality company secretarial services to the Group. The Company Secretariat team supports Burberry in promoting high standards of corporate governance, public disclosures, and regulatory filings. This role covers activities related to Burberry Group plc, the listed parent company, as well as administering subsidiary and joint venture companies globally.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with a hybrid working model (2 days in-office per week) based at our Horseferry House 2 office in London.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with the delivery of the Burberry Annual General Meeting and the preparation of the Annual Report
* Collaborate with the Reward team on employee and discretionary share schemes and manage shareholder communication
* Draft and release Stock Exchange announcements, maintain records, and oversee share capital processes
* Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and UK Listing Rules
* Act as Secretary to Burberry's Data Privacy Steering Committee
* Provide secretarial support to subsidiaries, mainly in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, in partnership with third-party providers and lawyers
Personal Profile:
* Qualified by the Corporate Governance Institute
* Experience with UK listed companies
* Strong knowledge of UK Listing Rules, DTR, Market Abuse Regulation, and Companies Act
* Experience managing subsidiary governance, including accounts approval, meetings, and dividends
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* Working knowledge of Diligent Entities
* Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
* Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels
* Strong relationship-building skills, collaborative mindset
* Self-motivated and team-oriented
